DOJO RULES
STUDENT CONDUCT
NO STREET SHOES OR DIRTY FEET IN THE DOJO
NO JEWELRY IS TO BE WORN IN CLASS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF WEDDING RINGS
UNIFORMS MUST BE WORN IN CLASS
UNIFORMS MUST BE CLEAN AND DISPLAY PROPER PATCHES
ALL ACTIVITY MUST BE SUPERVISED BY AN INSTRUCTOR
SUPERVISION OF A CHILD IS THE PARENT’S RESPONSIBILITY WHEN THE STUDENT IS NOT IN CLASS
SPARRING EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED FOR ALL SPARRING ACTIVITIES. THIS INCLUDES USE OF PROPER MOUTH GEAR AND CUPS FOR MALES
IF THERE IS NO CLASS IN SESSION, STUDENTS WHO ARRIVE EARLY FOR CLASS MAY ENTER THE DOJO TO STRETCH AND WARM UP. NO HORSE PLAY!
ADDRESS INSTRUCTORS AND BLACK BELTS BY THEIR SIR NAME (MASTER, MR, MRS., OR MISS…..) OR BY “SIR” OR “MA’AM”
BOW BEFORE ENTERING OR LEAVING THE DOJO
IF A STUDENT ARRIVES LATE FOR CLASS, STAND AT ATTENTION AT THE ENTRANCE WITH HAND RAISED AND WAIT FOR PERMISSION TO ENTER
WHEN THE INSTRUCTOR ENTERS A CLASSROOM, STUDENTS ALREADY IN THE ROOM SHOULD SNAP TO ATTENTION AND BOW TO THE INSTRUCTOR
STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO SHOW RESPECT FOR THE JUNIORS, SENIORS, AND PARENTS AT ALL TIMES….INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE DOJO!

A= Excellent = 4points
B= Good job = 3 points
C= OK job/Fair= 2 points
D= Needs work= 1 point
F= Not able to execute/ incomplete = 0
7pts with no “F” to pass to full rank ( ½ rank at advanced level)
7-8pts with one F” to pass ½ rank (nc at advanced level)
5-6 pts pass ½ rank (nc at advanced level)
4pts or less No Change in rank
*demonstration of life skills and positive, respectful attitude may earn a bonus point
